as an organism

For a long time human kind considered the Earth as just a big stone which they can treat however they wish. The effects of this worldview are now, with the first signs of climate change visible. The earth can actually be understood as an organism itself, where everything is related to each other and which always is in change. Some of these changes are processed in longterm, others are feelable and visible, as earthquakes. Earthquakes happen in different depth of the earth. A lot of them are due to movement in the earth. This website shows earthquakes, their magnitude, depth and how many people have felt it, if measured. The map localizes the earthquakes; the view of the map is always set to the deepest earthquake. The diagram on the left tells more about the magnitude and how many people actually felt the earthquake.
